Question on Compressed Video Classroom Design

Here is a question I received from a fellow ITC member who has been asked to design a compressed video distance education room by Friday of this week!  I know she will greatly appreciate any feedback you can provide. Please respond directly to Sandy at the e-mail address below.

Question on the Design of a Distance Learning Classroom

I would love to see photos of recently designed distance education rooms. We are in the beginning stages of designing approximately four new compressed video distance educations rooms to support several partnership ventures. We are thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 to 45 seats tops in each room. I would be interested in hearing from folks who have been involved in similar projects. I would like tips on the latest trends, coolest new furniture, and equipment and design schemes as well as advic on what works well and what does not. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Congratulations to 2007 ITC Award Winners for Excellence in Distance Education!

ITC is pleased to announce the winners for its 2007 Awards for Excellence in Distance Education.  We will recognize these outstanding distance educators at a special recognition luncheon on Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 from 12:45p.m. to 2:00p.m. at The Hotel Albuquerque in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We received many more nominations this year than we have in the past.  The winners were reviewed and chosen by an exemplary panel of judges that included ITC board members, past board members, past awards winners and other ITC members.  Special thanks go to Kristi Lozano, director of distance education and virtual college at Miami Dade College, who worked with the ITC board to create the awards forms and a comprehensive rubric which the judges used to choose from the list of outstanding nominations we received this year.  ITC is providing a complementary registration to each award winner to attend e-Learning 2007 on Feb. 17-20 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
